[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Hillsborough 10-11-2005 by Ord. No. 2005-45. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A. 
No person over the age of 18 who has been convicted of a violation of any crime against a minor as listed in N.J.S.A. 2C:7-2, and who, as a result of said conviction, is required to register with the proper authorities pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:7-1 et seq., Registration and Notification of Release of Certain Offenders Act, shall be permitted to reside or live within 2,500 feet of any school, park, playground or day-care center in the Township.
B. 
A person who resides or lives within 2,500 feet of any school, park, playground or day-care center in the Township shall have 60 days from receipt of written notice of the prohibition set forth herein to move. Failure to move to a location which is in compliance with this chapter within the permitted period shall constitute a violation of this chapter.
C. 
This chapter shall not apply to a person who has established a residence in the Township prior to November 1, 2005.
D. 
Any violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,250; imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days; or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
