No person shall possess or carry any firearm at or in any of the following locations or on the following vehicles:
A. 
The municipal building complex, including, but not limited to, the municipal court, police department, grounds, and parking lot and all publicly owned or leased buildings and properties, including, but not limited to, the Field Station, the LBI Health Department, the water tower properties, public works facilities, and all parking lots connected thereto.
B. 
All beaches and public parks, including, but not limited to, Bayview Park, Veterans Park, and public parking lots related thereto.
C. 
The LBI Shuttle and gators used for beach access.

No person shall discharge on the beaches of Long Beach Township, the public property of Long Beach Township, the streets or public ways of Long Beach Township or the waters of Long Beach Township any cannon, gun, pistol, revolver or firearm of any sort, kind or description except as herein below provided.

This section shall not apply to:
A. 
Any military exercise.
B. 
Officers of the State of New Jersey, County of Ocean or Township of Long Beach or other municipal police department charged with the enforcement of the laws of this state and municipality while such officers are actually engaged in the enforcement of such laws.
C. 
The use of any firearm in the defense of persons or property.
D. 
The use of any firearms by licensed hunters during the legal gunning season in accordance with the provisions of state and federal laws and regulations governing the taking of game.
E. 
The use by any yacht club or other organization sponsoring boating races of a starting count or similar device.

A violation of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III, General Penalty.
