GENERAL REFERENCES
Snow and ice removal on streets and sidewalks — See Ch. 359, Art. II.
The owner or owners, occupant or occupants, tenant or tenants of all shopping centers in the Borough of Middlesex shall be individually and jointly responsible for the removal of and shall remove all snow and ice from said parking areas and public ways in accordance with the further provisions of this chapter.
In the event said snow and ice (and either) is so frozen as to make removal impracticable, covering the same thoroughly with sand or ashes, or the use of other chemicals to remove same, shall be deemed compliance with the removal provisions of this chapter.
Removal of ice and snow as aforesaid shall be accomplished within 12 hours of daylight after the same shall fall or be formed thereon.
The term "shopping center" as used in this chapter shall be defined to mean any commercial establishment that provides off-street parking for patrons.
No owner or owners, occupant or occupants, tenant or tenants shall deposit any removed ice or snow in any public way.
Any person, firm, corporation or other organization who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, pay a fine not exceeding $200 or be imprisoned in the Middlesex County Jail for any term not exceeding 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the Magistrate of the Municipal Court before whom such conviction shall be had, and each and every day in which said violation exists shall constitute a separate violation.
