There is hereby created Fire District No. 1,
the boundaries of which shall consist of all of the property within
the corporate limits of the Township.
The Fire District shall be governed by a Board
of Fire Commissioners. The Commissioners and their successors shall
be a corporate body known as the "Commissioners of Fire District No.
1 in the Township of Mount Holly, County of Burlington." Said body
corporate shall have the power to acquire, hold, lease, sell or otherwise
convey, in its corporate name, such real and personal property as
the purposes of the corporation shall require. All purchases, sales
and leases of real and/or personal property shall be in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Lands and Buildings Law (N.J.S.A.
40A:12-1 et seq.) and the Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1
et seq.). Said body corporate shall have the authority to adopt and
use a corporate seal and to sue or be sued and shall have such powers,
duties and functions as are usual and necessary for its purposes,
including the assessment and collection of taxes, pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:14-79, and adoption of a fire district budget, pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:14-78.1 et seq.
