The Town Board of the Town of LeRay, pursuant to the authority granted
it under § 18 of the Public Officers Law and §§ 10
and 20 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, hereby enacts as follows.
The Town Board of the Town of LeRay finds that in order to provide for
defense and indemnification for its officers and employees, it is necessary
and desirable that the Town Board adopt the provisions of § 18 of
the Public Officers Law as applicable to the Town of LeRay. It is the purpose
of this chapter to adopt said provisions so as to provide their full force
and effect in matters affecting the Town of LeRay officers and employees.
Pursuant to the provisions of § 18 of the Public Officers
Law of the State of New York, the governing body of the Town of LeRay, New
York, hereby agrees to be held liable for costs incurred under the provisions
of such section by conferring upon such officers and employees of such Town
the benefits of § 18 of such law, subject to the requisite terms
and conditions of said section.
