This chapter shall be known as the "Town of Lake George Business Improvement
Districts Law."
The Town Board of the Town of Lake George finds that the creation of
business improvement districts pursuant to Article 19-A of the General Municipal
Law affords the business community the opportunity for increased business
activity within the Town of Lake George, which increased business activity
not only directly benefits the business community but also indirectly benefits
the residents of the Town.
The Town of Lake George, pursuant to the authority set forth in § 980-b
of the General Municipal Law, hereby adopts the application of Article 19-A
of the General Municipal Law (Business Improvement Districts). The Town Board
of the Town of Lake George is hereby authorized to establish or extend business
improvement districts within the Town of Lake George.
