Sale of lands for unpaid taxes — See Charter, § C6-20.
This chapter shall govern the sale of all City-owned real estate except
where said real estate was acquired pursuant to an urban renewal program as
authorized by the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
Sale of City-owned real property may be made in any of the following
ways:
A.
Any sale of City real estate, whether by private sale
or public auction, must be approved by a three-fourths vote of the membership
of the Common Council.
B.
Any sale of real property made pursuant to this chapter
shall be subject to a veto by the Mayor, to be made within 10 days of the
Council's approval of the terms of a private sale or within 10 days of the
sale at public auction.
No sale of property pursuant to this chapter shall be subject to a referendum.
