The Village Board may from time to time amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal this chapter, including the Zoning Maps, by proceeding according to the provisions of the Village Law.
The Village Board, by resolution adopted at a stated meeting, shall fix the time and place of a public hearing on the proposed amendment and shall cause notice to be given by publishing a notice thereof, one insertion, at least 15 days prior to the hearing in the official newspaper of the Village. The notices shall state the general nature of the proposed amendment.
Whenever the owners of 50% or more of the area in any district or part thereof shall present to the Village Board a petition duly signed and acknowledged requesting an amendment, supplement, change, modification or repeal of the regulations prescribed for, or the Zoning Maps including, such district or part thereof, it shall be the duty of the Village Board to hold a public hearing thereon and cause notice thereof to be given in the manner prescribed above.
