Town of Somers, NY Chapter 4 Appearance Tickets

§ 4-1 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to authorize certain public servants of the Town of Somers to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.

§ 4-2 Certain officials authorized to issue appearance tickets.

The following public servants of the Town of Somers are hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violation of a state statute, a local law, ordinance, rule or regulation of the Town of Somers that such public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:

A. Part-time patrolmen: any statute, local law, ordinance, rule or regulation involving the public health, safety and welfare, parking and licensing, and zoning and planning ordinances, rules and regulations.

B. Chief and Deputy Chiefs of the Fire Bureau and Fire Inspector: Fire Prevention Code,[1] no parking or standing in fire zones.

C. Building Inspector, Assistant Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer, Town Engineer and Engineering Technician: any statute, local law, ordinance, rule or regulation involving the public's health, safety and welfare, building codes, zoning and environmental laws.

§ 4-3 Manner of service.

An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall be served personally.
