Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the Town Board may appropriate
and authorize, for Independence Day, Memorial Day and Veterans Day observances
and celebrations, including but not limited to fireworks displays, an amount
which the Town Board deems fitting for the proper observance of these occasions.
This chapter shall supersede the provisions of Town Law § 64,
Subdivision 12, in its application to the Town of Somers.
