GENERAL REFERENCES
Taxation — See Ch. 245.
There shall be appointed in accordance with the provision of the laws of New Jersey three discrete freeholders who shall be residents of said Borough, who shall constitute and compose the general board for the making of all assessments in said Borough.
Hereafter, at the monthly stated meeting of said Borough Council in January of each year, they shall be duly appointed.
Any board which shall not have completed its assessment of any particular improvement at the regular stated meeting in January of each year shall be continued in office by reappointment until it completes such assessment for said particular improvement.
Said Board for the making of assessments shall organize as soon after its appointment as possible and shall select one of its members as Chairman. The Borough Engineer shall be Clerk of said Board and shall do and perform such duties as may be required of him by it.
Each member of said Board shall be allowed and paid $5 for each day he shall be actually and necessarily employed in discharging the duties enjoined on him as a member of said Board.
