A Recycling Committee is hereby established for and in the Borough of Palmyra.
The duties of the Recycling Committee shall be to:
A. 
Encourage voluntary recycling within the Borough.
B. 
Apply for grants from state and federal agencies to aid in recycling.
C. 
Design a voluntary recycling plan for the Borough of Palmyra.
D. 
Study the feasibility of mandatory recycling in the Borough of Palmyra and develop a contingency plan for use in the event that the County of Burlington mandates recycling in the Borough of Palmyra.
E. 
Undertake such other activities in the aid of recycling as the Borough Council may from time to time authorize by resolution.
The Recycling Committee shall consist of as many members as the Borough Council chooses to appoint. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Borough Council. One appointee shall be designated by the Borough Council to serve as Chairman. The Mayor shall serve as an ex officio member of the Recycling Committee.
The Borough Solicitor, Engineer, Planner and Auditor shall be available to the Recycling Committee for consultation at the request of the Committee.
