A. 
No person shall abandon any vehicle within the limits of the City of Somers Point, nor shall leave any vehicle at any place within the city for such time and under such circumstances as to cause the same to appear to have been abandoned.
B. 
No person shall leave any partially dismantled, nonoperating, wrecked or junked vehicle upon any street, highway or alley within the city.
No person in charge or in control of any property within the City of Somers Point, whether as owner, tenant, occupant, lessee or otherwise, shall allow any partially dismantled, nonoperating or junked or discarded vehicle which is owned by him or is under his possession or control to remain on such property longer than 24 hours or parked upon any of the public streets of the city longer than said period of time, with the exception that this chapter shall not apply with respect to a vehicle in an enclosed building or a vehicle on the premises of a business enterprise operated in a lawful place and manner, when necessary to the operation of such business enterprise.
Any police officer or the Code Enforcement Officer of this city is hereby authorized to remove or have removed any vehicle left on any public street or highway or alley within the City of Somers Point which appears to be in violation of this chapter or is lost, stolen or unclaimed. Such vehicle shall be impounded until removed, claimed or disposed of.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or to a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination of the foregoing.
