In accordance with the provisions of § 9-183a of the General Statutes, the number of Justices of the Peace shall be not more than 18 electors of the Town.
Twelve Justices of the Peace shall be selected in accordance with § 9-183b of the General Statutes. Vacancy in the office of any such Justice of the Peace shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of § 9-184 of the General Statutes.
A. 
The Town Clerk shall appoint not more than six Justices of the Peace in the manner prescribed and in accordance with the provisions of § 9-184c of the General Statutes.
B. 
Beginning in 2000 and quadrennially thereafter, any such appointment shall be made upon written application submitted on or after August 1 and on or before November 1 in accordance with the provisions of § 9-184c of the General Statutes.
C. 
Vacancy in the office of any such Justice of the Peace shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of § 9-184c of the General Statutes.
The terms of Justices of the Peace chosen under either § 110-5 or 110-6 of this article shall be for four years. Justices of the Peace shall take office on the first Monday of January.
