As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
WATERFOWL
As used herein shall mean water birds including, but not limited to, Canada geese, sea gulls, ducks and swans.
No person shall feed, cause to fed or provide food for any waterfowl on all recreational lands within the Township of Hazlet.
This article shall not be construed to prohibit humane acts toward all waterfowl in individual cases, such as the temporary nurturing of a wounded bird on one's own premises, and authorized wildlife management activities.
No person shall abandon, leave or discard any waterfowl upon any recreational lands within the Township of Hazlet.
The Police Department, Code Enforcement Officer and the Monmouth County Health Department are hereby authorized and directed to enforce the provisions of this article.

Any violation of this article or of any regulation promulgated shall be punished by a fine not as provided in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty, for each and every offense. As an alternate penalty, a convicted person may be ordered to perform community service not to exceed 15 hours.
