The purpose of this article is to allow for
amendments to this chapter, whenever the public necessity and convenience
and the general welfare require such amendment, by following the procedures
of this article.

In the event a proposed zoning amendment or PDD is referred
to the Planning Board for review and comment, the Building, Planning
and Development Department shall submit a copy of the proposed amendment
to the Planning Board and, where required by § 239-m of
the General Municipal Law, to the Saratoga County Planning Board for
review and recommendation.
The procedure as to notice of public hearing,
public hearing on and enactment of a proposed amendment shall follow
and be governed by § 265 of the Town Law and § 239-m
of the General Municipal Law, including all subsequent amendments
thereto.
The Code Enforcement Officer and the Town Clerk
shall each maintain records of amendments to the text of this chapter
and of the Official Zoning Map and Park Plan Map.
Copies of amendments shall be provided to the
Planning Board and Zoning Board members and Town departments affected
by the amendments. Amendments shall be published in the newspaper
of record within five days of approval of any amendments.
