Effective January 1, 2006, it shall be unlawful
for any person, firm, association or corporation to engage in the
repairing, replacing, remodeling, renovating or altering of existing
construction or equipment of any kind in the City of Linwood, New
Jersey, unless such person, firm, association or corporation shall
furnish the Construction Code Official of this City a certificate
of insurance and a copy of his or her current valid State of New Jersey
Contractor License certifying that such person, firm, association
or corporation is qualified to engage in said business.
Every such person, firm, association or corporation
shall make application to the State of New Jersey annually, which
shall entitle the said person, firm, association or corporation to
be licensed by the State of New Jersey to engage in and carry on the
business of repairing, replacing, remodeling, renovating or altering
of existing residential construction in the State of New Jersey.

The Construction Code Official of the City of
Linwood is hereby authorized to issue any such license for nonresidential
construction upon the delivery to him of said certificate of insurance
and payment of the license fee, as herein provided. Every such license
shall expire on the 31st day of December of each year. If there is
a change in the business location of the licensee, the Construction
Code Official shall be notified and the new address shall be noted
on the license.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association
or corporation to allow the use of his, their or its name by any person
or persons, directly or indirectly, for the purposes of obtaining
a permit to do any work defined under this article.
There shall be posted in the office of the Construction
Code Official in the City of Linwood a list of the names and addresses
of licensed contractors.
Applications for licenses shall be made to the
State of New Jersey for home improvement contractors registration
(in accordance with New Jersey Contractors Registration Act of May
13, 2004).
A.Â
Beginning March 1, 2002, the fee for all contractor
licenses for those working at properties other than single-family
homes, shall be $200, and the fee for all renewal licenses shall be
$100 per year, payable to the City of Linwood. Licenses shall be renewed
on or before January 1 of each year and shall expire on the 31st day
of December each year. Licenses are nontransferable.

B.Â
A maximum of four municipal license decals may be
issued to each contractor. Contractors requesting additional license
decals will be required to submit a payment of $5 per additional license
decal requested.
C.Â
Contractors are required to display their current
license decal in the rear or side window of each construction vehicle.
Any person, firm, association or corporation
violating the provisions of this article shall be subject to any and
all penalties and fines not to exceed $1,000.
