[HISTORY: Adopted by the Legislature of the
Menominee Indian Tribe 4-5-2001. Amendments noted where applicable.]
No individual may hunt for wild turkey, as defined
in the Conservation Code, except as provided below.
All hunters are encouraged to have a tribal
identification card in their possession while hunting.
A.Â
Only male turkey will be allowed for harvest.
B.Â
One turkey per tribal member may be harvested.
C.Â
Tags are not transferable and must be in possession
of the eligible hunter.
D.Â
Individuals 12 years and under will not be eligible
for tags.
E.Â
Bird must be tagged immediately upon killing and registered
within 72 hours at the designated registration site or by calling
the Menominee Conservation Department.
F.Â
Tribal members shall remain in accordance with all
applicable laws and rules specified herein as well as in the Conservation
Code and all laws of the Menominee Indian Tribe.
G.Â
All persons are required to process their bird in
a timely manner so as not to allow the meat to spoil. This will result
in a wanton waste violation in accordance with the Conservation Code.

The following safety tips are recommended to
protect everyone. Hunt safely and respect mother earth.

Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
B.Â
Be certain what you see or hear is a turkey not a
decoy or another hunter.
C.Â
Do not wear blue, red or white colors when hunting
turkey; these are the colors of the gobbler.
D.Â
When still hunting and another hunter approaches use
your voice to identify that you are there. Never wave your arms or
stand up quickly when other hunters approach.
E.Â
Never use your turkey call when there are hunters
around or near you.
F.Â
Never hunt with a decoy closer than 200 yards to any
road.
