§ 236-1 Definitions.
- BORROW
- The receipt of library materials from the Montville Township Public Library by means of or by charging the same to a library card pursuant to procedures as established by the library requiring the return of said library material within a specified period of time.
- LIBRARY
- The Montville Township Public Library established and funded by the Township of Montville.
- LIBRARY MATERIALS
- Any books, written materials, phonograph records, video cassettes, other audiovisual materials and any other materials provided by the library for borrowing by its patrons, including materials provided pursuant to reciprocal and interlibrary loan programs.

§ 236-8 Separate violations.
A. Any violation of § 236-3, 236-4 or 236-5 of this chapter shall constitute a separate violation as to each item of library materials or property damaged, removed without authorization or not timely returned to the library.
B. In the case of any violation of § 236-5 of this chapter, each thirty-day period after receipt of the initial notice provided for therein during which library materials are not returned shall constitute a separate violation.
§ 236-9 Violations and penalties.
A. Persons charged with a violation of this chapter shall be permitted to pay the penalties through the Violation Bureau, provided that all library materials are returned to the library, fine paid to the library and a receipt therefor exhibited to the Violations Clerk. For the first offense, the penalty shall be $25; and for the second offense, the penalty shall be $30. For further offenses and for other violations of this chapter, a court appearance is required, and a penalty will be assessed, in the discretion of the Judge of the Municipal Court, not to exceed the penalty provision of Subsection B.
B. Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not to exceed $100 for each separate violation, as specified in § 236-8 hereof.
