Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:3-9, a Board of Health of the Township of Greenwich is established.

The Board of Health shall be composed of the members of the Township Council, the Housing Inspector, Maintenance Officer, and Secretary of Board of Health.
The Board of Health shall appoint, on the day of its organization, a place and day for the regular meetings of the Board for the conduct of general business and hearing complaints and reports, and shall cause to be published in the Township's official newspaper notice of such meetings.

For attendance at meetings of the Board, members shall receive the sum according to the Salary Ordinance for each meeting, to be paid in the same manner as members of the Township Council are paid for their services. The Secretary of the Board shall be paid the compensation fixed in the annual Salary Ordinance.[1]

In the event of a vacancy in the office of Housing Inspector/Maintenance Officer, before the time of electing or appointing his successor, the Township Administrator shall succeed the Housing Inspector/Maintenance Officer as a member of the Board and shall continue as a member until a Housing Inspector/Maintenance Officers shall be appointed.
All ordinances, resolutions, appointments, rules, regulations and orders of the Board or Boards of Health of the Township of Greenwich now in effect shall remain in full force and effect unless and until they are changed by the Board of Health established by this chapter.
