The elected and appointed officials included within the requirements of this article shall be those serving upon a "local government agency" as that term is defined within N.J.S.A. 40A:9-22.3(e) and include, but are not limited to, a member or appointee of the Township Committee, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Industrial Commission, Municipal Utilities Authority, and any other agency or board, including the chief executive officer or Administrator of same, within the Township of Hamilton, as well as any other independent local authority or entity created by the Township of Hamilton, which performs functions other than of a purely advisory nature.
The elected and appointed officials subject to this article shall attend, or have attended, on an annual basis, a course relating to government ethics training which is approved by the Department of Community Affairs of the State of New Jersey. Such training courses shall be arranged through the Township Administrator in consultation with recognized experts within the discipline.
