The Borough Treasurer shall, before entering upon his duties, give a bond to the Borough with surety to be approved by the Council, in the sum of $1,000, conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties as the same now are or may hereafter be defined by law of this commonwealth or any ordinance of the Borough and for the payment of all moneys remaining in his hands in his official capacity and the delivery of all books and papers in his possession belonging to said office to his successor in office on the expiration of his term of office.
The said Treasurer's bond shall be taken in the name of the Borough of Eddystone.
