The Borough of Harveys Lake shall become a participant in the Social
Security System, and the benefits of old age and survivors insurance shall
be extended to its full-time employees and shall not be extended to the elective
officers of the Borough of Harveys Lake or to any fee-based position created
by the Council.
The proper officers of the Borough shall be and are hereby authorized
to execute and deliver to the Secretary of Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, the "state agency" charged with administration of the Act
of 1951, P.L. 1833, as amended, the enabling act, the plan and agreement required under the provisions
of said enabling act and the Social Security Act, to extend to the full-time
employees of said Borough and to do all other things necessary to that end.
The proper officers shall be and they are hereby authorized to make
all required payments into the contribution fund established by said enabling
act, and to establish such system of payroll deductions from the salaries
of full-time employees as may be necessary to their coverage under said Old
Age and Survivors Insurance System.
There is hereby appropriated from the proper fund or funds of the said
Borough the amounts necessary to pay into the contribution fund as provided
in the enabling act and in accordance with the plan or plans and agreement.
The proper officials of the Borough of Harveys Lake shall do all things
in accordance with the provisions contained in the plan and agreement necessary
to the continued implementation of said Old Age and Survivors Insurance System.
The said Borough of Harveys Lake shall become a participant in the Social
Security System, and such participation shall commence as of January 1, 1968.
