In addition to compensation to be paid to members of the Police Department,
there shall be paid to each member of the Department, called upon to do special
police duty in attending at baseball games, dances, boxing tournaments, football
games, athletic meets or any other entertainment or doings requiring the attendance
of a member of the Police Department, a sum as shall, from time to time, be
determined by the Mayor in the exercise of his office.

The Mayor shall report to the Council at the first meeting thereof in each month the name or names of the member or members of the Police Department who have been assigned to and have performed special police duties and are entitled to the additional compensation as provided for in § 31-1 hereof; whereupon the Council shall, by resolution, authorize payments to be made to the member or members entitled thereto, the amount due as shown by such report, and shall authorize warrants to be drawn upon the Borough Treasurer in payment thereof, the same to be payable out of the general funds of the borough.
