The authority of this article is derived from the Municipal Home Rule Law § 10, Subdivision 1(ii)a(1). The purpose of this article is to establish a four-year term of office for the Town of Olive Town Clerk. The need for this article is to further the goals and operation of the Town of Olive and for the general welfare of the residents of the Town of Olive.
A proposition for the approval of this article shall be submitted to the electors of the Town of Olive at the general election to be held in November 1992; which is not less than 60 days after the adoption hereof.[1]

Editor's Note: This article passed at mandatory referendum on 11-3-1992.
This article shall become operative only if approved at said election by the affirmative vote of the majority of the qualified electors. The elected Town of Olive Town Clerk shall hold office for a term of four years commencing on the first day of January 1994.
