Town of Richmond, NY Chapter 6 Appearance Tickets

§ 6-1 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town of Richmond to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.

§ 6-2 Authorization to issue tickets.

The following public servants of the Town of Richmond are hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violation of a state statute, local law, ordinance, rule or regulation of the Town of Richmond that such public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:

A. Town Constables: parking, public health, safety and welfare.

B. Town Code Enforcement Officer or Deputy Code Enforcement Officer: licensing of occupations or businesses; fire prevention and safety; health and sanitation; and building, zoning and planning.

§ 6-3 Method of service.

An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall be served personally.
