A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Secretary of the Borough of Milton, being marked and designated as the BOCA National Fire Prevention Code/1996, as published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., be and is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the Borough of Milton, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the BOCA National Fire Prevention Code/1996 are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter.

A. 
Any person, partnership or corporation who or which shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof in a summary proceeding, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, such persons, the members of such partnership or the officers of such corporation shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not in excess of 30 days. Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. All fines collected for violation of this chapter shall be paid over to the Borough of Milton.
B. 
In addition to the remedies and penalties provided in this chapter, the Borough of Milton may institute any appropriate action in law or in equity to prevent, restrain, correct or abate any action, conduct or condition which constitutes a violation of this chapter.
