[Adopted 1-15-1957 as Ch. XVI, Secs. 63 and 64, of the 1957 Code of Ordinances; amended in its entirety 10-28-1998 by Ord. No. 1103]
From and after the passage of this article, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation to obstruct or cause to be obstructed or occupied by any goods, wares, merchandise or fixtures of any kind whatsoever any portion of the sidewalks within the Borough of Milton except such portion of the sidewalk as may be directly in front of the property occupied by the person or persons, firm or corporation displaying the same, and no such obstruction shall under any circumstances be permitted to extend onto said sidewalk more than three feet beyond the building line of said property. In addition, a four-foot walkway must be kept clear for pedestrian use.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article, and being thereof convicted before any District Justice, upon information duly made, shall forfeit and pay a fine of not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, be sentenced to a period of imprisonment not exceeding 30 days.
