An Employee Handbook and Personnel Manual under
date of April 2000 is hereby approved and adopted to apply to all
employees of the Township of Mansfield. Three copies of the same shall
be available at any time in the office of the Township Clerk.
All employees covered by a separate collective
bargaining contract shall be governed by said contract provisions
when in conflict with the Employees Handbook adopted herein.
Upon final passage of this article, every employee
of the Township of Mansfield shall receive and acknowledge receipt
of an Employee Handbook and Personnel Manual adopted herein.
The Township of Mansfield reserves the right
to amend, modify or completely replace the Employee Handbook herein
adopted, without further ordinances being adopted authorizing the
same.

For all noncontractual employees who have been employed by the
Township for 25 continuous years or more, upon retirement, that employee
shall be entitled to maintain enrollment in the Township's then-current
health care coverage, and that the Township shall pay 70% of the health
care premiums associated with such coverage, and the employee shall
pay 30% of the health care premiums associated with such coverage.
Upon the retired employee attaining the age of 65 or otherwise
becoming eligible to enroll in Medicare, the Township's health
care coverage shall become secondary.
The provisions of this article are to have prospective application
as of the date of its adoption. The Employee Handbook of the Township
of Mansfield, Retirement Policy, is hereby amended in accordance with
the provisions of this article.
