A. 
The Township of Mansfield Engineer is hereby authorized to establish numbers for each structure and lot and to file in his office maps of the lots of land established within the Township and designating thereon the numbering of such lots for proper identification.
B. 
The Engineer is authorized to assign numbers to buildings erected upon vacant lots for proper identification as standards for such designation and assignment. The Engineer shall give due regard to the need for a logical and uniform sequence of assignment along the streets and roads of the Township to obtain better identification and convenience for location.
The owner of any property, whether it be residential, commercial, industrial, or otherwise, and upon which there is located a principal structure in which persons are, or may be present at any time shall, install on the said structure, and also at the frontage of the property on the public or private road, number(s) corresponding to the number(s) assigned by the Engineer.
The following regulations shall apply to all numbers to be installed, in order to provide the greatest degree of identification of the property so as to assist any persons thereon.
A. 
The identification number(s) shall be no less than three inches in height, and made of durable and clearly visible material.
B. 
The numbers shall be of reflective material or of sufficient visible contrasts to the background material to be easily discernible at night with the aid of an emergency vehicle spotlight.
C. 
All numbers shall be mounted in a secure fashion to the front wall or porch of the building or other fixed appurtenance such as a post, rod or mailbox, which shall be placed between the front of the building and the street so as to be clearly visible from the street.
No original certificate of occupancy or continued certificate of occupancy shall be issued for any structure in the Township of Mansfield unless the said property and structure is in compliance with the requirements of this chapter.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Code Enforcement Officer with the cooperation of the Police Department or such other persons or departments as may be designated by the governing body. Every violation of the provisions of this chapter shall subject the violator to a fine of not more than $10 per week per violation until said violation is corrected.
