[Adopted 9-23-1998 by Ord. No. 98-14]
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:67-16.9, the Mayor, or the Supervisor of Roads of the Township of Mansfield, in the absence of the Mayor, shall have the authority to issue written orders temporarily closing any street, alley, thoroughfare or roadway of the Township of Mansfield or portion thereof to motor vehicle traffic on any day or days or during specified hours on any day or days whenever he finds that such closing is necessary for the preservation of the public safety, health or welfare.
Any temporary closure shall not exceed 90 days without further review by the entire Township Committee of the Township of Mansfield for the justification of continued temporary closure.
Proper warning signs of such closing in any street, alley, thoroughfare or roadway or portion thereof shall be posted setting forth the time period the same shall be closed.

Violations of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as provided in § 1-17 of the Code of the Township of Mansfield.
