[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Health of the Township of Mansfield 3-25-1954 (Ch. BH:VII of the 1975 General Ordinances). Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person, as principal, agent or employee, shall keep, raise or maintain, or permit to be kept, raised or maintained, at or upon any premises owned, or occupied by him, in the Township any swine, more than 10 in number, without first having procured from the Township Board of Health a permit for that purpose. Any such permit may be revoked at any time by the Board of Health, when such revocation shall appear to the Board of Health to be necessary for the public health, safety, or refusal to comply with the provisions of this chapter. No permit shall allow the holder thereof to have, keep, raise and maintain, on any premises mentioned in the permit, more than 100 swine. No fee or charge shall be made for any such permit.
All buildings, yards, enclosures or premise in which any swine shall be kept, raised or maintained, shall at all times be kept in a sanitary condition. The failure or refusal to keep the buildings, yards, enclosures or premises in a sanitary condition shall be the proper basis for revocation of any permit.
No permit provided for herein shall be issued unless prior thereto the premises on which swine are proposed to be kept shall be enclosed with a substantially built fence to restrain and confine the swine to the premises and shall provide proper shelter or shelters for the swine.
Application for permit hereunder shall be made to the secretary of the Board of Health in writing, and such application shall state the location of the premises on which the swine are proposed to be kept, the name and address of the owner and operator of the premises, the number of swine proposed to be kept on the premises pursuant to the permit. No permit shall be issued for a longer period than one year.
A. 
Nothing in this chapter shall apply to, affect or cover the keeping or maintenance of pigs of less than two months of age.
B. 
Nothing in this chapter shall affect or cover the premises where less than 10 swine are kept and maintained.
No garbage or decaying vegetable matter, decaying flesh or any animal, fowl or fish shall be imported into the Township for any purpose in connection with the raising or feeding of swine.
