Subdivision and land development — See Ch. 215.
The purpose of this chapter is to require the
numbering of all houses and other buildings to facilitate, promote
and accelerate the delivery of municipal and other services such as
fire protection, police protection and emergency health care and ambulance
or rescue services and to otherwise promote the public safety and
the general welfare of the citizens and residents of Lower Pottsgrove
Township.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall be defined as follows:
All principal buildings, such as, but not limited to, single-family
and multiple-family dwellings and places of business. The terms shall
not include accessory buildings on the same lot that are occupied
by the same person or persons as the principal building on such lot.
Any adult person who resides in a house or building or occupies
a house or building for the operation of a business or otherwise,

by the deed of record.
Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
The Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes
the Township Manager to assign numbers to all houses and other buildings
within Lower Pottsgrove Township or any part thereof. The Board of
Commissioners further approves and adopts the maps and building number
designations therein heretofore prepared by the Township Engineer,
copies of which are on file in the Township office.
A.
The owner and/or occupant of any house or building
shall cause the assigned number to be posted conspicuously at the
entrance to the lot on which the house or building is situated at
or near the point at which the driveway to the lot actually meets
the existing street cartway, or the owner or occupant may cause the
assigned number to be posted on the street side of the building itself,
in such a manner as to be clearly visible and legible from the street.
B.
The posting of assigned numbers shall be accomplished
by the use of durable reflecting material which contrasts with the
immediate background or by painted numbers upon mailboxes, gateposts
or other posts in the immediate vicinity of where the driveway to
the lot meets the actual street cartway. When numbers are posted on
mailboxes or on a sign perpendicular to the street, they shall appear
on both sides of the mailbox or sign.
C.
The owner and/or occupant shall have a continuing
duty to maintain the posting of assigned numbers and to replace or
repair the same when the same are damaged, defaced or removed.
