GENERAL REFERENCES

No person, firm, association or corporation shall erect, maintain or display any sign, advertising devices, pennants, streamers or flags, whether or not the same contain or have imprinted thereon any writing or print, or displays upon buildings, structures or land within the Incorporated Village of Plandome Manor, except as permitted in § 176-2 below.
A. 
No sign or advertising device shall be erected or attached to any building without the approval of the Board of Trustees. In addition to the approval of the Board of Trustees, all signs shall comply with regulations set forth in this section, and no sign, display or advertising device which is not classified herein shall be permitted.
B. 
In a residential district, the following signs may be permitted and no other:
(1) 
One sign displaying the house number and name.
(2) 
For permitted home professional offices, one sign not exceeding six inches in height and 20 inches in width either affixed to the residence or on a post not more than six feet in height and located at least 10 feet from the nearest property line. Such a sign may be illuminated, except that such illumination shall be shielded so as not to disturb other residents.
(3) 
One sign containing four square feet or less upon real property stating that the property or part thereof is for sale or rent. When not attached to the home, the height of the sign shall not be greater than four feet above grade, and the sign shall be set back at least 25 feet from the street line and 10 feet from the side yard line. Construction signs shall not be permitted.
