The Board of Trustees of the Village of Suffern hereby readopts
and accepts the applicability of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention
and Building Code for the Village of Suffern.
The Building Inspector, Fire Inspector and Code Enforcement
Officer of the Village of Suffern and their deputies are hereby designated
to administer and enforce the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building
Code within the Village of Suffern.
The Fire Inspector, Building Inspector or Code Enforcement Officer
may adopt rules and regulations for the administration and enforcement
of the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. Said rules
and regulations shall be published at least five days prior to the
effective date thereof in a newspaper of general circulation within
the Village of Suffern. Such rules and regulations shall not conflict
with the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, this chapter
or any other provision of law.

The Code Enforcement Officer and the Building Inspector are
authorized to conduct periodic inspections, and the Fire Inspector
is authorized to conduct annual inspections for compliance with the
New York State and Village of Suffern codes.
A person owning, operating or maintaining property or premises
within the scope of the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building
Code or this chapter shall comply with the provisions of the State
Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, this chapter and all orders,
notices, rules, regulations or determinations issued in connection
therewith.
