All electrical installations, construction and work on or in the buildings in the Village of North Collins, New York, except temporary wiring and other work installed for test purposes at power stations and manufacturing plants, shall comply with the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the current rules of the National Board of Fire Underwriters known as the "National Electrical Code" and shall be made and done in compliance with the following additional requirements.

Every person, firm and corporation hereafter doing electrical installation in the Village of North Collins' limits shall file individual, firm or corporation names and business addresses with the Village Clerk.
It shall be the duty of the person, firm or corporation about to install electrical work to notify the Electrical Inspector in writing in such a manner and at such time or times that said Electrical Inspector may properly inspect the work. It shall be the duty of said Electrical Inspector thereupon to inspect such work and, upon the completion thereof in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, to issue to such person, firm or corporation doing such work a certificate of approval.
No person, firm or corporation furnishing electrical current for any purpose whatsoever shall make service connection or furnish current to any building or for use or consumption in any building in the Village of North Collins, New York, where electrical work has been installed, altered or added to unless the electrical work so installed, altered or added to in such building has been duly inspected and approved as above set forth or unless said Electrical Inspector has issued a temporary permit for such service connection or furnishing such current during building operations, such permit to expire within a limited period of time as set forth therein or upon completion of the building.
All electrical installations, construction and wiring for supplying light, heat and power hereafter placed within any building used wholly or in part for business purposes or public congregations, now completed or hereafter erected within the limits of said village, shall be run in approved metal conduit, armored cable or metal moulding.
The Electrical Inspector referred to above in this chapter shall be, and the aforesaid duties of such Electrical Inspector shall be performed by, the person holding the position of Electrical Inspector of Underwriters' Association of New York State for the Village of North Collins, New York, or any other qualified agency acceptable to the Village of North Collins Board of Trustees.

Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The continuation of an offense against the provisions of this chapter shall constitute, for each day the offense is continued, a separate and distinct offense hereunder.
