[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of West Seneca 7-13-2009 by L.L. No. 3-2009. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The purpose of this chapter is to abolish the office of Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in the Town of West Seneca, New York.
The office of Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in the Town of West Seneca, New York, is hereby abolished. The powers and duties of that office shall be transferred to the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of West Seneca, New York, effective January 1, 2011.
This chapter shall be subject to a mandatory referendum at the next regularly scheduled general election.[1]

This section is enacted under the authority of Municipal Home Rule Law §§ 10, 22 and 23. The Town hereby expressly states its intention that this section shall supersede any provision of the Town Law of the State of New York to the contrary, including but not limited to Town Law §§ 20, 30 and 37.
This chapter shall take effect upon the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified electors voting thereon at said general election and the filing with the office of the Secretary of State in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.
