On and after the passage and approval of this chapter, it shall be the duty of each and every owner, trustee, agent and occupant of each and every building, including, but not limited to, residential, commercial and industrial buildings, to be numbered in accordance with this chapter and the system and plan as hereby adopted and approved.
A.
Location of numbers: entranceways. The designated street address number shall be placed in a conspicuous place on or over each front door, on the front transom bar, or over or on either side of the entrance to each residence and/or building. The number must be easily readable from the street and shall not be obstructed by any item that tends to conceal the number from sight.
B.
Location of numbers: mailboxes. The designated street address numbers shall be placed on mailboxes; however, numbers shall not be placed solely on a mailbox if said mailbox is not directly in front of the building. If the mailbox is not directly in front of the residence or building, then a person placing numbers on the mailbox shall place them on both the mailbox and the entranceway of the building. Numbers shall be placed on both sides of the mailbox and shall be visible from either direction of the street.
[Amended 7-10-2006 by Ord. No. 12-2006]
