[Adopted by Ord. No. 1999-33]
There is established a "Senior Citizen's Advisory Committee" for the Township of Ocean.
A.
The Senior Citizen's Advisory Committee for the Township shall consist of five members, appointed annually by the Township Committee in January of each year. The term of said members shall be for one year with all terms to expire on December 31 of the year of appointment. The members of the Senior Citizen's Advisory Committee shall designate one of its members to serve as Chairperson and another member to serve as Vice Chairperson of the Committee for each calendar year.
B.
In addition, the Township Committee may appoint not more than two alternate members. One such alternate member shall be designated at the time of appointment as Alternate No. 1 and the second as Alternate No. 2. The terms of all alternate members shall be for one year with all terms to expire on December 31 of the year of appointment. Alternate members may participate in discussions and proceedings but may not vote except in the absence or disqualification of a regular member. No alternate member may serve as Chairperson or Vice Chairperson. A vote shall not be delayed in order for a regular member to vote instead of an alternate member. In the event that a choice must be made as to which alternate member is to vote, Alternate No. 1 shall vote first.
