Pursuant to the Municipal Utilities Authorities Law, N.J.S.A. 40:14B, as amended and supplemented, there is established a public body corporate and politic, as an agency and instrumentality of the Township under the corporate name and title of "The Ocean Township Municipal Utilities Authority." The Municipal Utilities Authority shall, within the Township, have and may exercise all or any of the powers provided for, in and conferred upon municipal utilities authorities by the Municipal Utilities Authorities Law.
The members of the Municipal Utilities Authority shall be appointed by resolution of the Township Committee in the manner provided in the Municipal Authorities Law and each member shall receive such compensation for his/her services as such member, not less than $1,050 in any one year and no more than $1,250 in any one year for each member, and that the chairperson thereof shall receive not less than $1,250 in any one year or no more than $1,450 in any one year as chairperson thereof, which salary and or salaries shall be determined by resolution of the municipal utilities authority. The alternate members of the municipal utilities authority shall receive compensation for his/her services as an alternate member, not less than $525 nor more than $725 in any one year, as shall be determined by resolution of the municipal utilities authority; provided, however, that said resolution shall set forth compensation for each of the alternate members in the same amount.
