The Town of Barkhamsted hereby establishes a Conservation Commission pursuant to C.G.S. § 7-131a, as the same has been amended or may be amended from time to time.

Said Commission shall consist of seven members to be appointed by the First Selectman for terms of two years beginning January 1, four members to be appointed in the odd-numbered years and three members to be appointed in the even-numbered years.

The general powers and duties of the Commission shall be as in C.G.S. § 7-131a, Subsection (b), as it may be amended from time to time.

There shall be two alternates to the Commission to be appointed by the First Selectman to serve for terms of two years, with the first term beginning on July 1, 1980.[1]

Editor's Note: Pursuant to an ordinance adopted STM 9-6-2000, approved at referendum 10-3-2000, all appointed terms ending June 30, 2001, be extended to December 31, 2001, and all terms ending June 20 in future years shall end December 31 that same year.
