[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Upper Burrell 9-7-1982 by Ord. No. 2-1982. Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall do any of the following acts within the Township parks or playgrounds:
A. 
Operate a motor vehicle, including, but not limited to, motorcycles, automobiles, and trucks, other than on a maintained cartway;
B. 
Littering of any type;
C. 
Use of firearms; and
D. 
Setting or making of fires for any purpose whatsoever in any Township park or a playground within the exception of fires created in designated fireplaces or in self-contained barbecuing devices.
A. 
All parks and playgrounds owned by the Township shall open at dawn and close at dark, and all persons using such parks and/or playgrounds shall vacate the same at that time.
B. 
The Supervisors may grant special permission to groups or organizations upon the proper application therefor made to the Township Secretary to use the parks and/or playgrounds after the established closing time, within the discretion of the Board of Supervisors.
Any person who violates or permits a violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction in a summary proceeding brought before a Magisterial District Judge under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, be guilty of a summary offense and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000, plus costs of prosecution. In default of payment thereof, the defendant may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days. Each day or portion thereof that such violation continues or is permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense, and each section of this chapter that is violated shall also constitute a separate offense.
