The Department shall be headed by a Director, who shall be chosen
solely on the basis of his executive and administrative qualifications,
with special reference to his actual experience in, or his knowledge
of, accepted practices in respect to the duties of his office as hereinafter
set forth.
The Department shall perform all appropriate functions associated
with:
A.
Preparation, review, enforcement and maintenance of the Master Plan.
B.
Staff assistance to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
C.
Supervision and coordination of community conservation, rehabilitation
and renewal programs.
D.
Furtherance of housing and economic development.
E.
Preparation and submission of state and federal grant applications
and coordination of grant funds and projects.
F.
Such other duties as may be assigned.
