The administrative functions, powers and duties of statutory
and other agencies of the City government not allocated and assigned
by this chapter shall be subject to the supervision of the Mayor,
except as otherwise specifically required by law, and for this purpose
such statutory and other agencies are allocated and assigned to the
office of the Mayor (N.J.S.A. 40:69A-207).
The Board of Trustees of the Free Public Library, as heretofore
established and empowered pursuant to law (N.J.S.A. 40:54-1 et seq.),
is continued.
The Housing Authority, as heretofore established and empowered
pursuant to law (N.J.S.A. 55:14A-1 et seq.), is continued.
The Planning Board, as heretofore established and empowered
pursuant to law (N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1.4 et seq.), is continued.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment, as heretofore established and
empowered pursuant to law (N.J.S.A. 40:55D-69), is continued.
The Local Assistance Board, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 44:8-115, is
continued.
The Municipal Utilities Authority, as created by City ordinance
and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:14B-1, is continued.
The Landlord-Tenant Affairs Board established by Ordinance No.
36 of 1980 is continued.
The Fine Arts Commission, established by Ordinance No. 38 of
1981, is continued.

The Purchasing Board established by Ordinance No. 49 of 1978
is continued.

A. The Mayor shall appoint a Tax Assessor and such Deputy Tax Assessors
as he may determine necessary. The appointment of the Tax Assessor
and any Deputy Tax Assessors shall require the advice and consent
of the Council.
B. The term, powers and duties of the Tax Assessor and necessary Deputy
Tax Assessors shall be in accordance with An Act Prescribing the Method
of Appointment, Term and Powers and Duties of Municipal Tax Assessors
(N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146 et seq.).
C. The Council, by ordinance, shall determine the amount of compensation
of the Tax Assessor and such Deputy Tax Assessors as are necessary.

The Local Development Board established by Ordinance No. 24
of 1987 is hereby continued.
