The schedule of allocations of titles referred to herein and
described as the "Plan for the Standardization of Municipal Class
Titles," which schedule is on file in the office of the Municipal
Clerk, is hereby made a part of this section, and the duties enumerated
therein are hereby adopted as and for the duties of each and every
position or office enumerated in the Alphabetical List of Titles hereinafter
referred to.[2]

Editor's Note: The preamble included with this section, which
was originally adopted 5-17-1949, reads as follows: "Whereas, the
City of Hoboken desires to cooperate with the New Jersey Department
of Civil Service in its program to standardize municipal class titles;
and "Whereas, conferences have been held with representatives of the
New Jersey Department of Civil Service concerning the application
of such titles to positions within the City of Hoboken; and "Whereas,
following such conferences, the New Jersey Department of Civil Service
submitted to the governing body of the City of Hoboken a schedule
of proposed allocations of title for all positions in the city designating
the appropriate standardized title for each employee in the city;

Editor's Note: The Alphabetical List of Titles, as well as
salary ranges for all positions in the City, are on file in the office
of the City Clerk.
A.Â
The Alphabetical List of Titles. City of Hoboken, set forth in the
Special Salary Ordinance of December 29, 1950, and subsequent amendments
thereto, which list is on file in the office of the Municipal Clerk,
is hereby adopted and made a part of this section, and the positions
mentioned in said list are hereby created and adopted as positions
of public employment in and for the City of Hoboken.
B.Â
This section shall in no way effect the tenure or civil service status
of any employee presently employed by the City of Hoboken in any of
the various positions set forth in said Alphabetical List of Titles.
C.Â
The provisions of this section shall in no way affect the term of
office or of employment of the incumbent of any office, the term of
which has been fixed by law.
D.Â
If said Alphabetical List of Titles contains any position or positions,
the duties of which are not enumerated in the Plan for the Standardization
of Municipal Class Titles, then in that event the duties of the position
or positions shall be those which pertain to the particular position
or positions as set forth in any other ordinance adopted and now in
force and effect pertaining to said position or positions or which
are set forth in any statute of the State of New Jersey relating to
the position or positions and which are not inconsistent with any
of the provisions of this section.
