A.
Findings. Various departments within the City of Hoboken have reason
to collect monies from residents, businesses, and other entities;
and payment of these monies is often made via check or other written
instrument.
B.
Service charge established. Any municipal department shall impose
a $20 service charge for any check or other written instrument returned
for insufficient funds.
C.
Manner of collection. Any service charge authorized herein shall
be collected in the same manner prescribed by law for the collection
of the account for which the check of other written instrument was
tendered in cash or by certified or cashier's check.
