Calvert County, MD Chapter 18 Building Construction

§ 18-1 Codes adopted by reference; amendments and deletions.

A. The International Building Code 2018 (IBC) published by the International Codes Council, Inc., is hereby adopted as the Building Code for Calvert County, with the insertions, additions, deletions, and changes to the IBC set forth in Exhibit A[1] hereto.

B. Chapters 1 through 11 and Appendixes E, F, Q, and S of the International Residential Code 2018 (IRC) published by International Code Council Administration are adopted by reference as the code for buildings as described in the International Residential Code (2018) with the insertions, additions, omissions and changes to the IRC set forth in Exhibit A hereto.

§ 18-2 Filing; effect on prior building permit applications.

This chapter shall take effect July 1, 2022, upon execution and filing with the Clerk of the Circuit Court; provided, however, that any building permit that was applied for prior to the adoption of this chapter shall be subject to the provisions of Chapter 18 of the Code of Calvert County in effect prior to the adoption of this chapter. Any building permit applied for after the effect date of this chapter is subject to this chapter.
