Pursuant to § 348.16, Wis. Stats., the highways maintained
by the Village are designated Class "B" highways. No person shall
operate any vehicle or combination of vehicles imposing wheel, axle,
group of axles, or gross weight on any Village highway which exceeds
60% of the weight limitations for Class "A" highways as set forth
in § 348.15(3)(c), Wis. Stats.
Pursuant to § 348.17, Wis. Stats., the Village President
is authorized to seasonally restrict the gross weight of vehicles
on designated Village highways, or portions thereof, whenever the
public interest so requires, and when signs required under § 349.16(2),
Wis. Stats., have been erected. Such temporary gross weight limitations,
set by the Village President, shall be not less than five tons.[1]
