The Village Board does declare its implacable opposition to
the illegal sale of any controlled substance on or near school grounds
and supports severe penalties for such acts.
The Village Board declares that there shall be a Drug-Free School
Zone around each school in the Village as defined in Chapter 280 of
the Laws of 1986, which zone shall consist of the area within the
real property boundary of each school within the Village together
with 1,000 feet beyond said real property.
The Village Board declares its support for full and strict law
enforcement of all laws designed to prevent illegal sale of controlled
substances within said Drug-Free Zone and its support for increased
criminal penalties for sale of controlled substances within said zone.
Certified copies of this chapter shall be forwarded to the superintendents
and/or principals of the school system within the Village.
