There is hereby created the office of Connoquenessing Township Code Enforcement Officer.
It shall be the duty of the Connoquenessing Township Code Enforcement Officer, concurrently with the Township Board of Supervisors and subject to the supervision of said Board of Supervisors, to investigate alleged violations of provisions of the Connoquenessing Township Code for which penalties are provided, and upon the finding of probable cause that an ordinance violation exists; to send such notice to abate or remedy the violation as may be required by law, if any; and to prosecute in the name of the Township before any Magisterial District Judge or court with jurisdiction in any civil or summary proceeding the violation thereof.
The Board of Supervisors shall appoint at their organizational meeting each year a Code Enforcement Officer and set the compensation thereof. The office of Code Enforcement Office shall not be incompatible with Township Building Permit Officer, Township Building Inspector or Township Sewage Enforcement Officer, which offices may be combined in whole or in part by the Board of Supervisors from time to time.
